Poplar (Hybrid)
Populus deltoides x Populus nigra.
This is a cross between Eastern Cottonwood from the United States and Black Poplar from Europe and North Africa.
Shipping size: 18" - 24"
It is a very fast growingdeciduous treereaching heights between 50’-80’. Ithasalong straight cylindrical trunk witha relatively narrow open crown of ascending slender branches.
The buds are brown, glabrous, and ½ inch long.
The upper surface of the leaves isyellowish-green, and the lowersurface is glaucus and green with serrated margins. The leaves remain on the branches late into the fall.
Spike’ hybrid poplar can also be used as an effective screen andas a windbreak in conjunctionwith other species.
